Hat Doctor has been a Western institution since 1902 — one of the oldest custom hat makers in Canada, shaping crowns for ranchers, cowboys, and Western enthusiasts across the country.
From Calgary to Merritt, B.C. to the Saskatchewan prairie, our shop has followed the Western life it serves. Featured on Heartland Country Cowboy Culture, Hat Doctor built a reputation on hand-blocked beaver felt and a fit that feels like it was always yours.
Today, under Charlene Berner in Verwood — overlooking Willow Bunch Lake — bespoke Hat Doctor work and the QCB Hatworks ready-to-shape line continue from the same bench. Every crown is shaped by hand.

The prairie came first. The hats followed.
Charlene Berner grew up with horses, ranching, and the rhythm of Saskatchewan. In Verwood she founded Quarter Circle B Hatworks — ready-to-shape hats for people who wear one every day.
When she acquired Hat Doctor, she united that bench with one of Canada's oldest custom hat makers.
